Participants in this course will have the opportunity to gain and/or verify a broad range of competencies associated with driving emergency vehicles. These competencies include basic understanding of emergency vehicle operations as well as the skills necessary for practical operation. Students will operate fire and EMS apparatus in a simulator while learning space management, accident avoidance, driving scenarios in varied road and weather conditions, and apparatus placement on scene. This course will consist of a 4 hour classroom session Friday night and a 2 hour simulator training session on your choice of Saturday or Sunday
Prerequisite: Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

If for some reason you cannot attend the course that you have registered for, you shall submit in written form the reason that you will not be able to attend the course, have your department chief or training officer sign the letter and submit this to the North Idaho Chiefs Association a.s.a.p. The North Idaho Chief’s Association shall review each letter and make the determination to refund the registration fee or not.
